2023 Clash for Cash Series

The year ending Clash for Cash is at noon on Saturday, December 16, 2023. The Clash for Cash events will start at 1pm with registration and warmup starting at noon. This year’s finale will also feature the Clash of Champions Invitational which will start at 12:30 PM.
The season ending Clash finale will feature one or two divisions, depending on the number of participants. In the event of a large turnout, the players will be divided into two groups based on their USATT rating or estimated rating, with the higher rated players in the “Club Division” and the lower rated players in the “Challenger Division”.
The tournaments will feature round-robin play, with the top one or two players from each group advancing to the knockout stage. There will be a $10 entry for STTC members and $15 for non-STTC members. Cash prizes and medals to all finalists in each division. In addition, the winner of the “Club Division” event will automatically qualify for next year’s Clash of Champions Invitational.
The Clash of Champions Invitational is a 16 player field which consists of 11 players who have already qualified this season and 5 Invitees to fill out the field. This event with have 4 round robin groups of 4 players each, with the top player in each group advancing to the single elimination stage. This year’s Clash of Champions Invitational winner will have his or her name inscribed on the Clash of Champions Cup.
The Second Annual Clash of Champions Invitational is scheduled for noon to five.
Format: Four groups of four players each will compete in seeded pool play in best 3 of 5 set matches, with the top player from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Cash Prizes: $100 first place
$50 second place
$25 third and fourth place

In the “Joes” division, Al Cordero was the gold medal winner and Jasper Law took the silver. Bronze medal winners were the father-son pair of Abhishek and Dhruv Gupta.
The field is now nearly set for the Clash of Champions Invitational. Those already securing their spots are: Kit Jeerapaet, Jordan Garth, Khai Chu, Amjad Mehboob, Felipe Ruiz, Artemis Artem Pushkarev , Andrei Barkouski , Fahad Zaman, Conrad Fisher, Dan Marigoni and last year’s defending champion Mark Frisman !
There will be at least two divisions in this year’s tournament series finale, the Clash of Champions field, the Joes and a third division depending on the size of the turnout. Please be on time, as that really helps us start and finish on time!
In the Joe’s division, Sammy Alkudski beat Dan Beck in pool play to go undefeated and then beat him again in the finals to finish off a perfect 7-0 afternoon.In the “Pros” division Felipe Ruiz took the gold medal and the top cash prize beating Conrad Fisher playing in his first Clash finals. Fahad Zaman continued to show steady improvement, taking the bronze.
