Clash for Ca$h Series
The July edition of “the 2024 Clash” is in the books! It was our largest turnout ever! 42 players! Thank you to all the players and their friends and families who came to watch! Thanks to Paddle Palace Table Tennis for their sponsorship! You can get all your table tennis supplies from Paddle Palace! We got off to a slow start, we had trouble getting our tables out of the storage room because another group was hosting an event. But even with the delays we were able to finish in less than 4 hours.
The play was fantastic. Nandu Iyer (2151) won the Championship division, beating Aroon Klunthong (2140) 4 games to 2 in the finals. Amjad Mehboob and Jamaica’s Joel Lamm were our semifinalists. In the Elite Class Keth Sereyphorth beat Doug (the hitman) Wilcock. New arrival Tanya Sihitova and Deepak Kohli were the semifinalists there. In the Master’s division Carl Gibbs topped John Nagel and in the Challenger class Dean Rosen won over Aziz Bahazaq. Thank you to all the players who helped set up and break down. Our Clash tournament is a lot like a flash mob and we did a great job of representing the sport of table tennis today. Great job team!
Our first Clash for Ca$h tournament of 2024 (June) saw 28 players battling in three events.
84 year old Arthur Glassman traveled all the way from Arizona to participate. William Robbins won the gold medal in the Joe’s event while Julia Leong took the silver and Kim Adams-Dipero won the bronze.
In the Future Pros event Kyle Maung beat Boyang Wang for the gold medal and Wilmer R Castro won the bronze medal over Carl Gibbs.
The Pros event was the largest with 12 entries and Felipe Ruiz took the top cash prize and the gold medal over Andrei Barkouski. By reaching the finals both Felipe and Andrei have punched their ticket to the third Annual Clash of Champions Invitational later this year.In the bronze medal final Val Kolkov came out on top of Sereyphorth Keth.
